High Court Stays Regularization Of Electricity Employees

The High Court has put a hold on regularization of electricity employees and ordered government to file a counter.

Hyderabad:  The Hyderabad High Court put a hold on the regularization of contract and outsourcing employees in the Electricity Department.

The court stayed the regularization and sought the government to file a counter in four weeks and put a halt to regularization process till further orders are issued.  It has deferred the next hearing for four weeks.

The Telangana government regularized 20,903 contract employees working in the state electricity department recently. While 23,667 employees applied for regularization, the screening committees, which examined the applications, finalized that only 20,903 were qualified for regularization.

Others whose applications were rejected by the screening committee based on domicile, age bar, and for leaving the job abruptly, approached High Court.
