Hema Malini to get NTR Award
Hyderabad: Dream girl of Bollywood Hema Malini has been chosen for the prestigious NTR memorial National Award for the year 2013. The BJP MP, who has recently acted in Balakrishna-starrer Gautami Putra Satakarni, has acted in more than 150 films and was heart-throb of yesteryear.
Melody King SP Balasubrahmanyam, who has sung over 45,000 songs in several Indian languages in a career spanning five decades was chosen for the same award for the year 2012.
Vanisree, who has acted in more than 300 films in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada -spanning four decades, was chosen for the prestigious Raghupathi Venkaiah Award by the Andhra Pradesh Governemnt for the year 2013. Kodi Rama Krishna, who directed more than 135 films so far was picked up for the same award for the year 2012 The awards were announced by TDP leaders and veteran actors Murali Mohan and Balakrishna today. They have also announced the decision to award some other stalwarts for NTR National Award, BN Reddy Award and Nagi Reddy- Chakrapani Award.
Versatile director Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, who has been directing films since 1954, will be honoured with BN Reddy Award for the year 2012. Another director A Kodandram Reddy will get the same for the following year.
