Height of honour for Tri-Colour

Hyderabad: Aruna Bahuguna, Director, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad, unfurled the second biggest Tri-Colour with all honours on a specially designed 100 feet high flag mast during a ceremonial parade convened for the purpose on Monday.

The mast weighs 109 tons and stands at 620.89 metres height from the mean sea level. It was erected on Vallabh Sikhar, which is the highest point of the Academy. The flag measures 20 by 30 feet. The tri-colour will not be lowered in the evening and the flag will be illuminated by flood lights throughout. This is the second tallest national flag mast erected in this part of the country. The flag is visible from the surrounding areas, like the PV Narasimha Rao Expressway and the Bangalore Highway.
