HC issues Notices To KCR On Thanksgiving

Hyderabad: High Court issued notice to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) in a case related to thanksgiving to various temples.

Petition filed by Activists Kancha Iliah and Ramulu on this issue was referred by Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Shameem Akhter who ordered serving of notices.

According to the writ petition filed by activists, offerings made by KCR were from the Common Good Fund which is anti-constitutional.

CM KCR offered thanksgiving to Balaji with a sum of ₹ 5.59 crore for various ornaments and to Veerabhadrawamy Temple in Mahabubabad with a sum of Rs70 lakh for golden moustache, which led to severe criticism from rationalists and opposition parties.
