HC Asks TJAC To Postpone Rally

Hyderabad: Hyderabad High Court has asked Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) to hold the rally of the unemployed on Sunday instead of Wednesday, the 22nd. Advocate Rachana arguing on behalf of TJAC submitted that it is extremely difficult to postpone the rally since all the logistic arrangements to mobilise people have been completed. The Telangana Police department has told the court that Prof Kodandram is likely to gather a large number of people including extremists who might create violence. The police made it clear that there is no question of allowing the rally from Sundaraiah Vignyana Kendram and Indira Park. The police said the TJAC had organised a number of rallies in the district and Kodandram himself had participated in 131 rallies and spoke inciting violence.

Justice Ramachandra Rao asked the TJAC about the precautions taken to prevent violence.  TJAC said there has never been any violent incidents in the rallies conducted by TJAC either or after the bifurcation. The judge has postponed the hearing to 12 noon on Tuesday.
