Haryana BJP Chief’s Son Arrested for Stalking

As police found evidence that Vikas Barala and his friends stalked and harassed a senior IAS officer’s daughter, they arrested the accused and filed a chargesheet against him.

Chandigarh: The police has finally arrested Vikas Barala, the son of Haryana BJP President Subhash Barala on Wednesday on charges of stalking a senior IAS officer’s daughter and threatening her.

The police has recovered the missing CCTV footage of five key locations in Chandigarh and summoned Vikas to surrender on Wednesday.

As Vikas was not present at the residence, the summons stating that he had to surrender by 11 am or he would be arrested by force, were pasted to his house.

However, Vikas surrendered three hours after the deadline. The police arrested him and filed a charge sheet against him.

The victim’s post on Facebook that Vikas and his friends chased her  and tried to kidnap her went viral. While the police arrested Vikas and his friends last Saturday, they got released on bail the same day. Since that day, Vikas went missing.

The police have procured CCTV footage from five CCTV cameras and have come to a conclusion that Vikas had harassed the victim by chasing her.

On the other hand, Vikas’s father Subhash Barala said that they respect the law and his son would definitely cooperate with the interrogation.
