Harish Rao calls for people’s involvement
- Rejects allegations on Mission Kakatiya
- 12 lakes, 18 check-dams, 1 store house for each mandal
WARANGAL: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao said the State government will take up lakes’ restoration on mission mode unmindful of the media reports and allegations being leveled by Opposition parties.
Inaugurating works related to lakes at Kuntapalli village in Sangem mandal of Warangal district here, Harish Rao said some political parties were making deliberate attempts to make false allegations. He said the TRS government was not afraid of the meaningless reports in a section of the media and allegations by some envious political parties. He refuted the allegations that the government was misusing funds for the lake restoration program.
The minster announced sanction of 12 lakes, 18 check-dams and one store house for each mandal in Parakal constituency. “The people gave the TRS mandate to govern and the government will offer transparent services to live up to their expectations”, he said. Harish said they have finalized 96 per cent of tenders for lakes works quoting lesser amounts. He called upon the farmers and people to participate in lakes restoration works with complete dedication. “The lakes restoration program should be conducted as that of participating in Ayyappa Deeksha and Anjaneya Deeksha”. The minister asked the people to involve themselves in the works to restore their water bodies and increase the produce by getting timely supply of waters. The lakes will help increase ground water table as well as ensure distribution of waters for standing crops in the rural areas and towns.
Later, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, Harish Rao, MLA Challa Dharma Reddy and others launched road works at Kakatiya Nagar in Sangem mandal. (NSS)
