Guv May Ask OPS To Take Floor Test
Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam may be asked to prove his majority on the floor of the Assembly. OPS has alleged on Tuesday evening that he was forced to submit his resignation. He sat at late leader J Jayalalithaa’s grave for one hour in silence and then declared that Sasikala has staged a political coup. A staunch loyalist of JJ, OPS claimed he was insulted and humiliated by Sasikala camp.
The TV channels have been playing the tapes in which JJ copiously praised OPS for the sacrifices he made for the party. Sasikala has rubbished the allegation made by OPS camp that late JJ was given wrong diabetes medicine by Dr Shiv Kumar who has been a close friend of Chinnamma as Sasikala is called by her followers. OPS’ followers claimed to have evidence against JJ’s doctor.
As against this background, Sasikala has called for a meeting of AIADMK MLAs on Wednesday at 9.30 am. Sasikala said OPS is a frustrated man and he has no support of even a single party MLA. OPS was removed from the post of party treasurer after his open rebellion. She declared that all MLAs are one family and there is no rift in the party.
In the meanwhile, AICC spokesman Singhvi alleged that the BJP is behind the revolt by OPS.
