Patel who scored the 25th first class century was named man of the match. He said he was taking chances and they luckily paid off. He appreciated the contribution by Manprit and Priyank Panchal.
Prior to Gujarat, 16 other teams won the Trophy. Gujarat would now play for Irani Trophy. It will play against Rest of India team in Mumbai from January 20.
Mumbai captain Aditya Tate commented that Parthiv played a good knock assisted by luck and the dropped catches were responsible for the Mumbai loss. Gujarat came up to final only once in the past, way back in 1950-51, when it lost to Holkar.
