Gujarat Rajya Sabha Election: Counting Delayed

The counting has been delayed, as the Congress approached the Election Commission complaining against the rebel MLAs who voted for the BJP.

Gandhinagar:  The counting for the Rajya Sabha election held in Gujarat has been delayed, as the Congress Party approached Election Commission complaining against the two rebel MLAs.

Though the party wanted the election to be scrapped, it has demanded to quash the votes of rebel MLAs.

According to the Congress leaders, rebel Congress MLAs have shown their votes to Amit Shah, instead of the party representatives. The onus to save democracy is on the Election Commission, the Congress stated.

Now, the poll panel needs to watch the poll video and come to a decision.

Meanwhile, an emergency meeting was held in Delhi, to which the party Vice President Rahul Gandhi didn’t attend.

From the beginning, there was chaos in Congress with six MLAs resigning to the party, and the fear of numbers dwindling. According to reports, out of the 44 Congress MLAs, one has voted for the BJP. However, Patel got one vote each from both NCP and JD(U).
