Governor to inaugurate Swacch Hyderabad program on May 16

HYDERABAD: A five-day “ SwacchTelangana – Swacch Hyderabad ” program will be taken up at a cost of 1000 crore rupees by the active participation of government, ministers, peoples representatives, businessmen, industrialists, institutes and individuals, according to Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao.
During a high level review meeting on SwacchTelangana and Swacch Hyderabad program, Rao sought to know what steps needed to be taken for the program. Governor Narasimhan will begin this prestigious program on May 16th to be concluded on 20th, he said.
The city will be divided into 400 areas and a committee of 15 members will be formed and about 6,000 in-chargers will work for the program, he said. An awareness camp for in-chargers and committee members will be conducted for the purpose on May 6.
The Chief Minister called upon the companies, corporate, multiplexes, hospitals and all other entities to participate in the program.
He said that every person will participate in cleansing one-and-a-half kilometer stretch. “I will participate in the program besides all ministers and peoples representatives,”he said.
Rao exhorted the people to take up this as a movement and ensure that the city becomes clean in next month. He directed the officials to make massive use of publicity through newspapers and television channels, Radio, RTC buses, autos. Also, using various art forms through TelanganaSanskrithikaSarathi will help create awareness, he observed.
It will prove handy if officials take steps of cleaning streets, removing garbage from localities, constructing individual and community toilets, parks, dumping yards, he added.(NSS)
