Governor Starts TS Budget Session, Congress Walkout
Hyderabad: Governor ESL Narasimhan addressing the joint session of Telangana Legislative Council and Assembly on Friday claimed that his government has been clean and efficient in taking care of the people. He hoped at the outset that the discussions that take place in the legislatures during the budget session would be positive and help resolve the problems faced by the people.
This is the fourth time that Narasimhan addressed the joint session of Telangana legislatures. Governor said his government has been functioning in a manner that strengthens democratic structure and principle. He claimed that there has been flow of funds into the State economy. Governor said the government has done well in economic sectors and welfare programmes have been added value.
Governor has spoken about two bed room houses, land distribution for Dalit’s, KG to PG education and other welfare measures. He also referred to Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya. The government’s initiative to help Muslim community including providing reservations. The Congress leaders said there is a farm crisis and the suicides by farmers is continuing. But there is no reference to the travails of the peasants in Governor’s address.
TDP leader Revanth Reddy appealed to the Governor to check the veracity of the claims made by TRS government before reading it out.
The Opposition Congress party has walked out protesting against the lies in Governor’s speech. CLP leader Jana Reddy, PCC president. MLC Ramachandra Rao, BJP leader, spoke of failures of the government on all fronts. He found fault with the para in Governor’s speech that dealt with reservations for Muslims
