Girl Mowgli Found In UP Forests
Lucknow: Unlike in Rudyard Kipling’s popular story Jungle book where Mowgli, raised by a family of wolves reaches ‘Man Village’ to save his life, a girl was found in Katarniaghat forests of Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich two months ago. All her habits resembled that of animals when she was initially found.
The girl who was found two months ago, was named Vana Durga eatgs and walks like animals and runs away on seeing humans, claimed Chief Medical Officer DK Singh. The girl who appeared to be around eight years had matted hair, wounds on her body and was wearing underwear when she was spotted said the CMO. He said that it appeared that she lived with animals for quite some time, however she is better and healthy, showing improvement, he claimed.
The forest patrol gaurds who spotted her brought her to Bahraich district hospital in January, where she was kept in an isolation ward for treatment. Doctors believe that she needs psychiatric evaluation and treatment and ruled out the rumours that she was brought up by monkeys in the jungle.
