Gattu quits YSRCP
- To join TRS soon
- Soar at MP Srinivasa Reddy’s attitude
- Felt slighted in Sharmila’s M’nagar yatra
- Yet another blow for Jagan’s party in TS
Hyderabad, January 4: The YSR Congress Party led by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy suffered another blow in Telangana State with its senior leader Gattu Ramachandra Rao announcing his resignation to the primary membership of the party.
According to Gattu’s close followers, Ramachandra Rao will be joining the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi after submitting his resignation to the YSRCP. It may be mentioned here that recently some YSRCP leaders had resigned from the party and joined the TRS apparently for political survival and benefits. With likely exodus of the remaining party activists shortly, the very survival of the YSRCP in Telangana State will be at stake.
According to reports, Gattu Ramachandra Rao and some party leaders were not happy during the “Paramarsha yatra” undertaken by party supremo’s sister Y S Sharmila in the Telangana districts recently. These leaders were reportedly upset over party MP from Khammam Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy was given prominence over others during Sharmila’s yatra. Barring Sharmila and Srinivas Reddy’s cut-outs, flexes of other party leaders were conspicuously absent and the disgruntled leaders kept themselves away from Sharmila’s Paramarsha Yatra.
It may be mentioned here that the YSRCP proved its influence only in Khammam district while it remained a non-starter in other districts of Telangana in the recent general elections. Besides, the YSRCP could not prevent its legislators in Khammam district from jumping to the ruling party. The exit of Gattu Ramachandra Rao, who remained loyal to the YSRCP from the beginning, will be a huge blow to the party. (NSS)
