Fresh registrations for Brahmin pension scheme
Hyderabad: IYR Krishna Rao, Chairman, AP Brahmin Welfare Corporation, has said that the Kashyapa Scheme for Food and Shelter is being reopened for those who missed it earlier. Over 7,000 beneficiaries, who applied in the first round up to the end of June, are already receiving financial assistance from the corporation. Those who could not apply in the first round, can register their names now under the Kashyapa Scheme from November 1 to 30, Krishna Rao said.
Under the scheme launched in the current financial year, poor and orphan children (up to 14 years age), widows, physically challenged and old people (above 60) are paid a monthly assistance of Rs 1,000. Aged people staying in recognized old-age homes will get Rs 3,000 per month. Brahmins living in Andhra Pradesh, with a family income not above Rs 75,000 per year are eligible to apply. Applicants should not be receiving aid for the same purpose under any other government scheme.
