Four Spanish Nationals Die In A Ghastly Road Accident

A ghastly accident involving the death of four Spanish nationals and an Indian citizen occurred on Saturday morning in Chittoor district.

Chittoor: Five people, including four Spanish nationals, were killed in a road accident when the minibus they were travelling collided with a truck on Saturday morning.

The police said that the accident occurred near Yatala Vanka in Punganur Mandal as it has collided with a truck coming from the other side. About ten Spaniards were travelling in the bus.

While four Spanish nationals and the driver of the minibus were killed on the spot, one Spaniard was critically injured. Four other Spanish citizens sustained minor injuries, a police official said.

The group, which visited Rural Development Trust (RDT), a philanthropic organisation in Anantapur district, was on its way to Puducherry.

Some Spanish nationals launched a trust in Anantapur and were taking up service activities in the surrounding villages. The group, which came to study the activities that were taken in the district, was on its way to visit Puducherry.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed shock over the ghastly accident. He enquired the details of the incident from local officials. He also directed the officials to contact Spain’s embassy in New Delhi and seek details of the individuals and make proper arrangements to send their mortal remains to their homeland.
