Focus on GHMC elections: KCR
- Asks leaders to carry on development works
- Talks for hours with ministerial colleagues
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today directed his cabinet colleagues, MLAs, MLCs and parliamentary secretaries to shift their focus on development works with more publicity. Warning of action against dereliction and inaction on the part of the ministers, the chief minister is learnt to have expressed discontent on their performance, at a meeting with them today.
The meeting assumes significance in the wake of completion of budget session, need for taking up flagship programs of Water Grid, Mission Kakatiya, Greenery, welfare schemes and focus to win forthcoming GHMC elections. Apparently peeved at the loss of one graduate MLC seat to BJP in Mahabubnagar, KCR is said to have expressed unhappiness and asked the leaders to coordinate to ensure total victory to the TRS in the GHMC elections. Interestingly, the government is under pressure to finalise the dates for the elections as the High Court has asked it to conduct the elections avoiding delay. On this issue too, the CM has asked his colleagues to gear up for the elections.
Besides involving farmers and people in lakes restoration that was kicked off a couple of days ago, KCR asked the ministers and peoples’ representatives work for speedy completion of development works, it is learnt. Take up the welfare schemes, use funds and implement developmental programs on a war footing and inform people of our priorities, KCR is said to have asked the members during the meeting held at Camp Office here.
