Washington, D.C.: An Aeroflot flight from Moscow to Bangkok unexpectedly hit severe air turbulence, leaving at least 27 people with injuries.

The injured – 24 Russians and 3 Thais – suffered heavy bruises and fractures, when the flight hit an air hole just one hour in its journey before landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

“Some injured passengers were not wearing seat belts,” the embassy said, according to CNN.
