Festival gift awaits Lokesh
VISAKHAPATNAM: Nara Lokesh, Telugu Desam Party national general secretary and son of TDP president and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, is sure to find a place in the State Cabinet which is expected to be expanded during Navrathri.
Since the nine-day festival started on October 1, the aspirants for ministerial berths among the TDP leaders have been waiting anxiously for the announcement. There is scope for including as many as seven ministers in the Cabinet.
“Vijayadasami falls only on October 11 and there is still a lot of time. The new Cabinet members can be sworn in on the auspicious occasion,” a senior TDP leader said. He is not off the mark in his expectation. Chandrababu has always considered Vijayadasami as most auspicious occasion. It was on this day last year Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the new capital city of Amaravati.
If the CM defers his decision for any reason, the announcement may come on Deepavali day, another TDP leader said. It is believed Lokesh is fond of Deepavali. If Chandrababu wants to bring his son into limelight, Deepavali is the right occasion, symbolically.
Observers say Lokesh doesn’t mind waiting until Sankranti in January but his father is eager to induct him into his Cabinet as early as possible. A section of TDP leaders too wants to see Lokesh in corridors of power as his presence would send a strong signal to the youth. Whichever festival it may be, Lokesh is set to receive a ‘powerful’ gift.
