Ex-service men meet KCR, express gratitude
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has reiterated that his government is committed to the welfare of the retired Army personnel. The Telangana State government is setting up a large fund for their welfare, he said.
Retired Army personnel from the Telangana State met the Chief Minister and expressed their gratitude and thanks for initiating many measures for the welfare of the Army personnel, for the first time in the country, which no other State government ever thought of doing. The retired army personnel under the leadership of MP Capt Laxmikanth Rao met the Chief Minister at Pragathi Bhavan here on Friday.
Several retired Army personnel said that in the past no other chief minister has ever bothered even to give them appointment or listen to their genuine problems. Chandrasekhar Rao is the only chief minister in the country who is thinking about Army personnel’s welfare, they said. “Chief Minister Sir, We are treating you as one of our members of the profession and we look towards you as a true Commander”, the Army personnel said in an emotion-choked voice. They later raised slogans, “Jai Jawan! Jai Kisan, Jai Telangana! Jai KCR!”
Empathizing with them, KCR hugged each one of them and personally enquired about their well-being. Retired Army Personnel Welfare Association leaders have presented an Artillery Model Gun to the Chief Minister on the occasion.
Along with Laxmikanth Rao, Telangana State Sainik Welfare Director, Col (Retd) Ramesh Kumar, retired Army Personnel Suresh Reddy, Jagan Reddy, Pochaiah, Francis, Prabhakar Rao, Manohar Reddy and others were present. -NSS
