HYDERABAD: Accusing the previous governments of irregularities and corruption with regard to providing employment opportunities, Finance Minister Etela Rajender today stated in the Legislative Assembly that the state government is ready to conduct a recruitment drive for district, zonal and multi zonal jobs.
When Congress member G Chinna Reddy asked clarification on the job vacancies during question hour, the minister stated that the TRS Government is committed to keep its word of providing jobs to the youth in the state. ‘We are not averse to filling up the vacant posts, but that cannot be done in a jiffy. The job seekers will put to loss if there is no clarity on the vacancies, he said alleging that some candidates suffered a loss due to mistakes through DSCs conducted earlier. While there are 20 lakh unemployed youth in the state, there are 1,07,774 vacancies, and 55, 878 posts will be filled up through direct recruitment, he said. He also said that there are 25,589 contract and 20,070 outsourcing employees, and warned the opposition members against blaming the ruling party for every problem. ‘Now there is no room for such irregularities as the focus is shifted to maintain complete transparency’ he said. He alleged that the opposition parties were shedding crocodile tears now on the vacancies. Though the previous Congress and Telugu Desam Governments miserably failed to provide job opportunities, they are now exerting pressure on the ruling party, he contended.
‘Gradually we are trying to overcome the hurdles by getting related information of vacancies and the Kamalanathan Committee’s final call will help us get more clarity’, he said. He maintained that there is no problem to regularise employees working on contract basis, but it is not so in case of the outsourcing employees as the rules come in the way. ‘However, we are now ready to take suggestions from the opposition on jobs, welfare and development issues’ Etela Rajender said. The Government will take steps to provide jobs to the eligible on merit basis avoiding recommendations, middlemen and corruption, he said. The undivided AP has donea great harm to the Telangana region in every aspect and the ruling party is now clearing all such obstacles to ensure jobs to the youth. The government is considering a plan to conduct examination to fill up vacancies in Urdu medium, he added. (NSS)
