ESL Narasimhan’s Tenure Extended by Centre
Hyderabad: At the time when rumours were rife about the elevation of Governor ESL Narasimhan as vice president, the governor was asked to continue in office till the union home ministry gave further orders.
The governor, who completed his second term on May 2, received a call from Home Minister Rajnath Singh and was asked to continue in the post till further orders.
Narasimhan was appointed as governor of United Andhra Pradesh in January 2010. When his term ended, the Centre extended his tenure for five years. After bifurcation of the State in 2014, he was asked to continue as governor to both the States.
As Narasimhan was holding meetings and resolving issues that were still pending between AP and TS, the speculation is that the Centre going to continue with him.
As of now, none of the chief ministers of Telugu States has any major complaints against the governor. In fact, the rumours are making rounds that Telangana CM KCR specifically asked Modi to continue him as governor of Telangana.
