Duvvada Jagannadham: Director, Producer Mollify Brahmins
Hyderabad: Allu Arjun’s ‘DJ’ faced criticism for using “Namakam Chamakam” sacred phrase, in lyrics was deleted compelled by filmmakers which was announced by producer DIl Raju on Tuesday.
Whole controversy started when ‘Gudilo Badilo’ song from the flick used the above said phrase in a commercial way.
After audio function,producer DIl Raju and Director Harish Shankar issued a statement that lyric will be changed. But Brahmin community staged protest in front of film makers and filed complaints in PS. They approached HC also to take action against them.
Producer Raju said that they changed the lyric into”Naa gamakam Nee Sumukam” in place of Namakam Chamakam which can be seen on the screen. He also clarified that Censor Board gave clearance after they submitted the changes.
Now we can see clean release for DJ without any hurdles on June 23rd.
Dronam Raju Ravi kumar, President of All India Brahmin Community, said that sentiments of Brahmins were hurt several times in the past and now the same is getting repeated in the form of songs.
Brahmin community is shown in very poor light in the flicks. @From Namkam Chamakam recital, film makers have used the words for a song which was screened on hero, heroine, we will not tolerate this,” said Ravi Kumar, who filed a complaint on lyricist and film makers.
Earlier DJ film shoot faced problems from Chennakesava swamy devotees in Beluru when the unit erected Lord Shiva in the temple premises without permission. Film makers cancelled the shoot and later they screened the shot in Telugu states.
