Drinking water to Wanaparthy by March
Hyderabad: Mission Bhagiratha Vice Chairman Vemula Prashant Reddy has directed the officials of Wanaparthy district to complete drinking water works by January 15 and supply potable water to every household by the end of March next year.
Speaking at a review meeting with officials of Wanaparthy and Suryapet district on the flagship programme of Mission Bhagiratha on Thursday, Prashant Reddy said the works should be expeditiously completed as Chief Minister K Chandraeskhar Rao has prioritized it.
Prashant Reddy expressed displeasure at the tardy pace of work by the executing agency and asked the officials to expedite the process of completing Wanaparthy Grid works by January 15. ENC Surender Reddy, Chief engineers Kripakar Reddy, Vijaypal Reddy, OSD Satyapal Reddy and members of Agency attended the meeting.
Increase in labour force, procurement of material component will go hand in hand and the government offered adequate funds. He also opined that works at Suryapet are at low pace and lying of pipes should be taken up now as the farmers will not sow crops now. Prashant Reddy said there are many tribal hamlets (Lambadi Thandas) in Suryapet district which should get drinking waters as per schedule. KCR was offering safe drinking water to such villages and hamlets, he said and expressed the hope that the work agencies will cooperate and complete the works fast. (NSS)
