Don’t Miss Poorna, A Biopic Of A Telangana Tribal Girl Who Climbed Mt Everest At 13

Hyderabad: ‘Poorna’, which hits the screens on March 31st is a biopic of a Telangana tribal girl who climbed Mt Everest at the age of 13. Movie Directed by Rahul Bose, who himself turned as actor and producer for this flick as nobody came forward to do so.

Director Rahul Bose’s last film was in 2001 and after 16 years, he came forward to do this movie based on real story of a girl who reached Mount Everest and created World record. The only inspiration for Director to do this movie, poorna, after reaching the peak of the Everest, stood with Indian flag, proving that ‘India can do it.’

Poorna Malavathi’s role was essayed by Aditi Inamdar on screen who did few short films earlier, interestingly both hail from Telangana.

Dr. Praveen Kumar, who is head of all social welfare in Tribal schools in Telangana, was the mentor for Poorna to achieve this fete. Praveen kumar’s book of 10 commandments for children inspired Poorna a lot.

Poorna reached Everest on March 25th, 2014, and it took more than two years to know about her to India in the form of a flick which I feel ashamed, says Director Rahul Bose.

Poorna Malavathi spent 8 months in Darjeeling and Ladakh to learn climbing, jogging and to adjust in cool weather. She took special practice for more than 3 months only in climbing; this shows her dedication and aim to achieve the goal at the age of 13. It took 52 days to climb Everest which proved girls can do anything if given opportunity.

Poorna’s aim is to become IPS officer and serve the poor in future. Big B Amitabh Bachan praised the girl in his tweet and said he is going to watch the film, so Indians, get ready to watch the biopic of Poorna along with Big B on March 31st.
