Doers Of Drugs Are Only Victims, Says Telangana CM

The Chief Minister’s statement has come as a big relief to thousands who are users of drugs or other intoxicants. However, this does not mean that there will be full stop to interrogation of cine celebrities.

Hyderabad: In what would come as a huge relief, including to the film celebrities under interrogation, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Friday announced that those who do drugs will be considered as victims. In other words, no cases will be booked against drug addicts or occasional users of drugs even if they are caught abusing them.

Following is what the Chief Minister precisely said: “We will punish the accused and will not create problems for the victims.”

Reviewing along with senior officials the progress of investigation into the infamous drugs case at Pragati Bhavan, Chandrashekhar Rao advised police and excise departments to conduct interrogation in the drugs racket in a transparent manner. “It is also not fair to say that one field (cinema) is being targeted,” he maintained.
