Digvijay slams KCR on defections
Hyderabad, January 22: AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh today criticized Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for backing the defections or MLAs and MLCs in the State. In a media conference held at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday after closing the brainstorming sessions with State congress leaders, Mr. Digvijay attacked on KCR government for defective politics.
To a question, he said that, KCR he himself participating on defections in the State. He mentioned that, the party already has gone to the High Court on the defections, and informed that, the HC directed the Advocate General to file a counter on it. Digvijay Singh said that, the party would drag the TRS Government’s defective politics into public domain effectively. He admitted that, the defected MLAs and MLCs from congress party did not submit their resignations of their primary membership to the party.
He stated that, the Congress party will undertake agitations against anti people policies of TRS and BJP governments. He reiterated that, these two parties ignored the promises made in their manifestos. The congress leader said that, the KCR government did not implement the Minimum Support Price for Paddy, Cotton and other crops to support farmers. He also added that, congress would undertake agitation in support of Beedi workers in the State, for whom KCR gave commitment to provide one thousand rupees per month. Digvijay Singh said that the Congress Party would get support from the voters in ensuing Delhi Assembly elections in February. He stated that neither BJP nor APP will get public support in the elections.
He criticized Kiran Bedi for praising RSS and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the event of Delhi Assembly elections and to become chief minister. He ridiculed Bedi for joining the BJP only eyeing Chief Minister post. Referring to oil prices and taxes slashed by Centre and State he said that, the Modi and KCR governments are robbing the consumers by not giving the reduction in the price of crude oil.
He said that party under took the today brainstorming session to hold discussion with party leader across the state. We discussed on congress ideology and sociology, organizations’ structure and changes if needed, leaders role ahead and strategy for implementing in Telangana. The same feed back will be taken from party general secretaries by Feb. 28 he said adding that AICC will prepare a strategy by March or April. (NSS)
