Digvijay Singh flays KCR for unkept promises
- Alleges Water Grid Scheme is to make money
- Naidu adopting dual standards
- Achhe Din only for Modi, Amit Shah
HYDERABAD: AICC general secretary and Congress party in-charge of Telangana State, Digvijay Singh has alleged that a huge scam is taking place in Water Grid Scheme introduced by the Telangana State Government in near future.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Thursday, Digvijay Singh said that the TRS Government kept the assurances given by it on the attic. He said that the assurances like Steel Factory in Khammam, Railway Coach Factory etc, which were mentioned in AP Re-organization Act, have not been materialized yet. He said that the PCC has collected 50 lakh signatures demanding implementation of the assurances given during the division of the State. He alleged that Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was giving priority to put up a show than working sincerely. He said that the people will not be benefited with the Water Grid Scheme, and predicted that the scheme will remain as a huge scam in near future. He alleged that the TRS Government is concentrating more on purchase of pipes than providing water to the people and said that there is no full-fledged project report with the Government.
Stating that the credit of giving Telangana State goes to Congress party, Digvijay Singh alleged that the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was adopting dual stand on the issue of State division.
Condemning the remarks of Union Minister Giriraj against the AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi, Digvijay demanded the Centre to drop the minister from the Cabinet.
Stating that the Congress party brought Land Acquisition Act by convincing all political parties, the AICC general secretary said that the BJP Government is trying to bulldoze the Bill. The good days (ache din) are only for Narendra Modi and BJP Chief Amith Shaw but not for common people, he said. He found fault with the BJP, which stated that it will discuss with all political parties on Land Acquisition Bill, questioning as to why it failed to discuss the same before bringing the Ordinance on Land Acquisition Bill.
Digvijay said that the Congress party will organize a rally in New Delhi on April 19 supporting the farmers and AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi will participate in the rally. Responding on Graduate MLC election results, Digvijay said that the party didn’t move forward properly and hence the defeat in the elections. (NSS)
