Demonetization debate to generate lot of heat
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has directed ministers and party legislators to take on the opposition and give a fitting reply if it tries to stall the proceedings of the Assembly’s winter session beginning on December 16.
According to information, the House is expected to witness heated arguments and a logjam as the BAC has agreed to take up the demonetization issue. At the insistence of MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, KCR reportedly has agreed to discuss the “note ban” issue on the first day of the session itself. The opposition parties are expected to seize every chance to take a dig at the State government for first opposing the note ban decision when the Centre announced it and later taking a U-turn.
The opposition is to take on the Centre as well as the KCR government over the note ban that has caused about Rs 3000 crore loss to the State exchequer. The treasury benches have been asked to be ready to give a spontaneous reply on the issues raised and calm down the members of the opposition. Congress and TDP have already announced to corner the government on crop loan issue, fees reimbursement, housing scheme for poor, land distribution for Dalits, redesign of projects and irrigation works and others. -NSS
