Debate on no-trust move against AP Speaker
- YSRCP’s no-confidence motion to be taken up
- Special session of Assembly on April 4
- First motion of its kind in AP House
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Assembly would meet specially on April 4 to debate on no-confidence motion against Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad. The Business Advisory Committee of AP Assembly has on Wednesday decided that there shall be a debate on the no-confidence motion for which a notice was given by YSRCP members. The Opposition has been utterly unhappy with the Speaker since the members felt that he has not been fair to them. They shouted slogans against him. They also demonstrated outside the Assembly.
Whenever Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy rose to speak, he was interrupted by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and many ministers. The Opposition says it is alright if the leader of the house interjects while their leader is speaking but how can the Speaker allow a number of minister to attack the opposition leaders making nasty allegations. The ministers made personal attacks on the opposition leader while the latter was speaking on the subject at hand. Eight YSRCP members were suspended for not respecting the chair. But Bonda Uma, a TDP member from Vijayawada, shouted invectives at the YSRCP members and wagging his finger, threaten to bury them in the house, was not taken to task by the speaker. It was at that time that the YSRCP members submitted a notice to move a no-confidence motion against the Speaker. This is the first no-trust move against the speaker in the last nine months.
