Hyderabad: The health condition of popular film director Dasari Narayana is reported to be critical. Dasari was admitted in KIMS hospital on May 17. He underwent surgery twice in the past five months. After a surgery in January, he got infected and fell ill.
Dasari who was born in Palakollu of West Godavari district on May 4, 1942, directed 150 films. He entered Guinness Book of World Records as a director who directed the highest number of films. He also produced 53 films and was a writer for 250 films. He is 75 years old.
He started his career as a director with the Telugu film Taata Manavadu in 1974. He won Nandi Award for the first film and created a record. Later he was awarded Nandi for his Swargam Narakam film. He was also awarded Nandi for Megha sandesam in 1983 and Mamagaru in 1992.
