D-G of Dr MCR HRD Retires—Gets a Warm Send-Off
Hyderabad: The Officers, Faculty, and Staff of Dr. MCR HRD Institute, Government of Telangana, bid an emotional farewell to Vinod K Agrawal, their Director General on his retirement on attaining the age of superannuation. An overwhelming number of his old colleagues too graced the occasion and made it a grand event. The send-off was marked by multiple rounds of applause, standing ovations, and best wishes for an eventful new innings of his career.
B P Acharya, Special Chief Secretary to Government, Planning Department & incoming Director General of the Institute, on full additional charge, said that while civil servants are required to learn continuously in the contemporary society, quite a few of them either do not do so or start thinking that they know it all. However, he added, Agrawal is a unique officer, who continued the learning process and, as a result, his competency and skill profile has always been current and up-to- date.
Agrawal said that while he held a number of important positions in his career spread over about three decades, his association with Dr. MCR HRD Institute gave him immense professional satisfaction. On this occasion, in addition to Dr. K Tirupataiah, Additional Director General, Smt. Anitha Balakrishna, Joint Director General, a number of Officers, Centre Heads, Faculty, and Staff spoke.
Agrawal and Acharya released a coffee table book on Dr. MCR HRD Institute. Smt. R. Madhavi, Associate Professor of Law conducted proceedings of the farewell function. (NSS)
