CS tells officials to submit budget proposals

Hyderabad: Telangana Government Chief Secretary SP Singh has directed the officials of various departments to present their budget proposals for 2017-18 fiscal as per Central government norms. Maintenance Account and Progress Account will replace Plan and Non-plan heads, he said.

At a review meeting with them at Secretariat here on Friday, Singh advised them to come up with priority and need-based agenda for all round development. Since Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is keen on welfare and development, our proposals of the budget should reflect them, Singh said. While Maintenance Account will have proposals of establishment, maintenance and payments, Progress Account will have proposals of subsidies, grants and scholarships.

Allocations should be made for SC, ST sub-plans, he said adding that the State Budget has demonetization impact; it will also reflect the impact of GST. Directing the officials to submit the details of number of posts and employees working to the Finance Department, Singh said that as KCR reiterated the officials should send utilization certificates to the Centre on various schemes and get funds immediately. -NSS
