Amaravati: The Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday set Rs 7200 core target expenditure for the next financial year from the MGNREGS in the State. The Chief Minister said that the departments have spent Rs 6,000 crore.
Stating that the State would get enough financial support from the Central government under the MNREGS, he wanted the officials to spend from their own reserve without waiting for the funds to be released. He said that the government would reimburse the funds spent by each department, after the submission of the reports. He asked the officials to create assets for the State spending the funds thoroughly planned.
The Chief Minister wanted the officials to use the funds for creation of infrastructure like CC roads, drinking water, class rooms and hostels in the State. He also directed the officials to plant saplings along all the roads using the MNREGS funds. He also wanted them to take the help of the self help group women across the State in the NREGS works. The extensive plantation would change the weather conditions in the State, he said.
