CPI Fears More Attacks On Indians In The US
Hyderabad: CPI General Secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy on Friday expressed his shock and serious concern over the Kansas City racist murder of Srinivas Kuchibhotla, a young Indian engineer, by a US Navy retired officer with a hate comment ‘’get out of my country”.
The victim and the injured are from Hyderabad. “This is the outcome of hate politics and the policies of US President Donald Trump. Communist Party of India sends its deep condolences to the family of Srinivas Kuchibhotla. We wish the injured Indians and the US citizen will recover fast.”
The CPI leader said the United States itself is a country of migrants -first from Europe and later from different continents of the world. Original inhabitants, who are known as “Red Indians” are wiped out with only small number still alive. The US has become a strong and prosperous country with the joint hard work of all people settled there. It is a big country with vast land, still a lot of people can find their placement there. Early centuries have seen Europeans migrating to Australia, America, Africa and Asian continents. Now the people of Asia, Africa are migrating to US and Europe, he added.
Now some European racist settlers want it to be a country of white supremacy. Ku Klux Klan and such organisations are carrying out this type of hate politics for decades. Donald Trump, is a sophisticated version of this racist campaign with slogan “America first”. “We are afraid that this may be only the beginning of such attacks in the future if Trump does not mind his ways. India should learn lessons that hate politics of racism, religion and caste, will harm everybody. CPI appeals to the democratic forces in the US to fight back the racism and Donald Trump’s policies”, he added. (NSS)
