Congress is Not Contemplating to Remove Jana Reddy: Khuntia
HYDERABAD: AICC secretary Khuntia on Saturday made it clear that the party high command was not contemplating to remove Jana Reddy from the CLP leader’s post.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday, Khuntia said he did not collect any information from the MLAs on the continuance of Jana Reddy as CLP leader.
Stating that the party would not be affected with the exit of senior leader Srinivas, Khuntia said the party would conduct village level committee meetings across the Telangana State to strengthen the party. The party was also collecting donations for conduct of village level committee meetings, he added.
The AICC leader said the party aimed at enumerating 50-lakh party members in the Telangana State, and by the end of this month 25-lakh memberships target would be completed.
He said AICC vice-president, Rahul Gandhi, would visit Anantapur district as part of party membership campaign. Rahul will take up 10 km padayatra from 9 AM to 2.30 PM on July 24. He said the party has not yet taken any decision on Warangal by-election. He also revealed that former Speaker of Lok Sabha Meira Kumar’s name was not discussed for fielding her for the Warangal MP seat.
He also questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi as to why he was not speaking on Vyapam scam. He informed the Congress Party would give Ifthar parties across the state to the Muslims on the occasion of Ramzan. (NSS)
