Congress accuses PM of cheating farmers
Hyderabad: Congress MLA T Rammohan Reddy has alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has cheated the farmers, who thought they would be benefited with the demonetization of big currency notes.
Speaking to the media at Assembly media hall here on Monday along with former chief whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy, Rammohan Reddy said Modi’s speech has disappointed the farmers a lot. The Prime Minister has thrown water on the hopes of the farmers, who thought that Modi might waive off their loans, he said. He also criticized Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who had dubbed the demonetization as useless step, for changing his tack now. He also said they will launch protests across the country following the call given by the Congress on demonetization of big notes.
Gandra said the nation was going backwards with the demonetization of big notes. He alleged that while KCR has become a brand ambassador to Modi and Governor ESL Narasimhan has become a brand ambassador to KCR. He expressed surprise over the Governor showering praise on KCR. -NSS
