Congress accuses CM of speaking lies in Assembly
Hyderabad: Alleging that the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was speaking lies in the Legislative Assembly, the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) has stated that it has boycotted the House for a day protesting against the unilateral attitude of the Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary.
Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Thursday, TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that there was no truth in the Chief Minister’s statement in the House that the government has given 10 times more compensation to the land losers at Mallannasagar project. The State Government was not updating the market rates of the lands and it was using the House as a place for TRS policy propaganda. Nobody understood whether the Land Acquisition Bill 2016 was an amendment or a new Act of State Government, Uttam said and alleged that it was unfortunate that the Speaker too has no information about it.
CLP Deputy leader T Jeevan Reddy bemoaned that the Chief Minister and Assembly Secretary Raja Sadaram misled the House on Wednesday.
TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka alleged that the TRS party was killing democracy in the Legislative Assembly. He said that the Congress party was seriously condemning the remarks made against the Land Acquisition Act 2013, on Wednesday in the august House. It was passed in the Parliament and endorsed by none other than the President of India. It was not proper for the Chief Minister to make remarks as he wished against the Land Acquisition Act 2013 made by the Parliament during the UPA government. The government hurriedly passed the Bill in the Assembly by suppressing the opposition parties thinking that the facts may reach the people in case the opposition parties spoke on the Bill. The Speaker was not following the traditions of the House, he alleged. -NSS
