- Uttam Kumar sees failure on all fronts
Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has described the first half of TRS Government’s term as totally disappointing and a setback for the new State of Telangana.
Addressing a press conference along with other senior leaders at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party granted statehood for Telangana to fulfill people’s aspirations and bring prosperity. However, with its maladministration and bad governance, the TRS Government has pushed Telangana backward by many decades. He said no section of the society was happy with the performance of TRS Government. He said that the TRS Government failed to fulfill even a single promise that it made to the people during the 2014 general elections.
Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the TRS Government had pushed Telangana into huge debts due to its economic mismanagement. He slammed the government for not clearing the dues of crop loan waiver scheme, fee reimbursement, Indiramma Housing and other welfare schemes. He said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao failed to identify and address the priority areas and focused on glorification of image of himself and his family members. He said instead of constructing houses for weaker sections on 100 sq yards of land, the Chief Minister constructed a palatial bungalow of one lakh sft for himself on nine acres of land. He asked KCR to clarify whether construction of new CM’s residence was so essential.
Stating the there was huge resentment among the people towards TRS Government, he said that KCR had spent the last two-and-a-half years in buying out legislators of opposition parties. Speaking about farmers, the Congress leader said that the state government had failed to address their problems.
Commenting on slain gangster Nayeem’s case, Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister was trying to hush up the case as a clear evidence of Nayeem’s nexus with a senior politician and a police officer was found during investigation. He also alleged that KCR had entered into a secret pact with his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu to hush up the “Cash for Vote” scam.
