Command Control Center opened to check irregularities in civil supplies
Hyderabad: Minister for Civil Supplies and Finance Etela Rajender inaugurated the Civil Supplies Department’s Command Control Center (CCC) at Civil Supplies Bhavan here on Tuesday.
It is meant to check irregularities in the department. CCC is connected to 17,252 ration shops and 171 MLS godowns across the State. Chief Secretary SP Singh and Civil Supplies Commissioner CV Anand and other officials were present at the event. Rajender hoped that the department will now check irregularities through GPS system in multiple ways and reduce the department’s losses drastically.
“In two-and-a-half years, we have brought down corruption to much extent”, he said, adding that the CCC, through GPS system will strengthen the department. The minister appealed to those not taking rice from fair price shops to return their ration cards and enable the department provide the same to other eligible and poor families.
The CCC paves a way for tracking the movement of every vehicle at every stage which are Geo-fenced by sending an SMS alert with officials at CCC whenever they go away from its designated path. Rajender said the new facility will check every movement of 1383 vehicles involved in transporting essential commodities from godowns to fair price shops.
Chief Secretary S P Singh said technology plays a key role in ending corruption and irregularities and CCC will prove handy in checking the same. Anand said more reforms will be introduced in the department to check them. –NSS
