Collectors meet ignored crops: Kishan Reddy
HYDERABAD: BJP Telangana President G Kishan Reddy today criticized that the two days Collectors Conference failed to talk on farmers issue in the state. Addressing a press conference at party office here, Kishan Reddy attributed the TRS Government of non committal on the issues related to farmers in the state.
He accused Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of ignoring the plight of the farmers who are in distress. I could not understand why the two day collectors addressed by the chief minister failed to touch upon the farmers suicides, steps to be taken to prevent the same and assurance to provide immediate succor to those who suffered crops, he deplored.
The Chief Minister should give clarity on what it is going to do for the farmers, he demanded. KCR did not bother on to talk about the farmers unseasonal rains had adverse affect on lakhs of acres of the crops in the state he said. Demanding the TRS Government to immediately announce some financial package to the farmers he said that the Centre will provide financial assistance to the state once the officials submit report on crops loss.
Recently union ministers M Venkaiah Naidu and Bandaru Dattatreya visited the crop hit farms in the Telangana districts and promised to extend necessary help, Kishan Reddy said. (NSS)
