CM Naidu visits rain affected areas

Guntur: Saturday’s heavy rainfall lashed the state and taken eight lives so far in Guntur. Situation in many parts of Guntur district got affected due to flood waters.

Many farmers were distressed as their crops got damaged after heavy rainfall. The paddy crops which are ready for harvesting or already harvested are now submerged under water due to the heavy rains for last two days.

Train services have been stopped by South Central Railway between Guntur and Hyderabad as the railway tracks were washed away. Around 17 trains have been cancelled and 24 trains have been diverted between Sattenapalli and Piduguralla in Guntur. Railway services between Guntur and Hyderabad are likely to be resumed from September 30.

Today, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu visited areas in Guntur affected by heavy rainfall.

The latest death toll from both the Telugu states is 17 people due to heavy rains.
