CM tells officials to finalise Amaravati-Anantapur express highway alignment plan
Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed the officials to finalise the highway alignment plan of Amaravati- Anantapur within a week.
In a review meeting on Monday the Chief Minister said that the government is keen on completing this project within 2 years. In addition, he asked the officials to complete the construction of the much-awaited Kanaka Durga Temple Flyover so as to inaugurate it on the 15th of August.
The Chief Minister told the National Highways Authority officials who were also present at the review meeting to complete all the ongoing highway works in the State within time. The Chief Minister mentioned that the Anantapur-Amaravati highway is the first greenfield project and asked the officials to scrutinize the proposal and complete the land acquisition for the project. The government is also planning to lay a railway line beside the highway, the Chief Minister said. He advised Joint Secretary to CMO Rajamouli to write letters to the concerned officials and to Central ministers for speedy implementation of the expressway. it was also decided to formulate special units in the respective five districts to oversee the construction of the expressway.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister also reviewed the Benz Circle flyover plan. He suggested that the flyover should connect to five different road junctions and that a design for the same should be considered.
The Chief Minister opined that the geometric design of proposed national highway between Raipur-Vishaka-Bhavanapadu has many curves and suggested that straight roads be laid.
