CM dedicates Bhakta Ramadas project to nation
Khammam: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao dedicated to the nation the Bhakta Ramadas Lift Irrigation Project in Paler constituency of Khammam district on Tuesday.
It was completed in a record 11 months, two months ahead of schedule, at a cost of Rs 307 crores and would irrigate 60,000 acres in three mandals.
Stating that with people’s support he would keep all promises made and transform the State into a green belt, the Chief Minister said the flagship programme Mission Bhagaritha will be launched to provide waters and internet to each household soon. Accusing the Opposition parties of obstructing the State’s development, KCR thundered, “Till my last breathe, I will toil for the welfare of the State”.
The Chief Minister also took serious exception to former Union Finance Minister P Chidambarm’s comment that the TRS Government has failed to keep the manifesto promises. He charged the Congress leaders with turning a blind eye to the welfare schemes and developmental programmes. “Have you gone blind and can’t you digest the welfare of the State spending a whopping Rs 40,000 crore?”, he asked. He also flayed Chidambaram for making baseless comments.
The Chief Minister appreciated the irrigation officials and his ministers Tummala Nageshwar Rao and T Harish Rao for doing a wonderful job. KCR announced that Sitharama Irrigation Project would be completed in one-and-a-half years. — NSS
