Civil Supplies Corp to go for Rs 3000 cr loan

Hyderabad: The Telangana Civil Supplies Corporation has decided to further strengthen the corporation by filling the vacant posts and appoint staff on temporary basis at its maiden governing council meeting on Thursday. It is waiting for the state government’s nod.
The meeting, held at the Civil Supplies Bhavan here, was attended by Civil Supplies Minister Etela Rajender, Commissioner C.V. Anand and governing body members. It was presided over by Corporation chairman Peddi Sudarsan Reddy. The meeting has also decided to set up enforcement, IT, finance and technical wings and recruit accountants and other technical staff. The meeting has approved the newly designed logo.
The meeting discussed at length 15 major issues, including financial position of the corporation, filling of vacancies and purchase of paddy. Sudarsan Reddy said a decision has been taken to go for a loan of Rs 3000 crore for purchasing paddy. He also said steps were being taken to pay cash to pay farmers within 48 hours of purchase besides providing support price to their produce.
