Has Chiranjeevi Decided To Say Goodbye To Congress?

The absence of megastar Chiranjeevi at the Sunday Guntur rally addressed by Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and many other national opposition leaders gave room to doubts about his continuing with the Congress.

Hyderabad: Congress party’s one and only charismatic leader of AP, formal central minister, Rajya Sabha member Chiranjeevi did not attend Rahul Gandhi’s meeting at Guntur on Sunday. Though Congress leaders claim that Chiranjeevi is on a family tour in China, indications are clear that the actor-turned- politician is distancing himself from the Congress.

AP Congress leaders told the media in Delhi when they went there to invite Rahul and leaders of other opposition parties that Chiranjeevi would attend the meeting which was expected to focus on Special Category Status. Even Chiranjeevi was not in the team that visited Delhi for inviting AICC Vice President.

Programme is scheduled long ago before Chiranjeevi left for China and it is well known for him that all top leaders from different parties will grace the meet, but he skipped the meet all the same and now sources say that Chiranjeevi will say goodbye to the party in near future.

Chiranjeevi, who came back with his 150th film Khaidi No. 150 is not pleased with party’s performance in AP after bifurcation and is keen on concentrating on his film career rather than politics.
