Centre assures AP full support for its development
- Jaitley inaugurates CII Partnership Summit
Amaravati: Union Minister for Finance Arun Jaitley inaugurated the CII Partnership Summit-2017 in Visakhapatnam on Friday. Delivering the inaugural address, Jaitley said that Center extends its support to Andhra Pradesh. According to government reports, Andhra Pradesh secured the first place in ease of doing business in the country. Various promises made to Andhra Pradesh both in legislation and by the Central government were fulfilled. The Union government clears all the promises step by step. Andhra Pradesh is going to be developed as one of the best States in the country with the support of the Union Government, Jaitley said.
He further said that Andhra Pradesh has largest costal line which enables economic development. Once the Polavaram project is completed with Central assistance, Andhra Pradesh will become one of the top States in agriculture sector. Andhra Pradesh State was divided in an unequal way, but in a span of two and a half years, the State has risen with full force and reached double digit DGP. AP will achieve a growth rate of 4-5 percent ahead of national GDP within next two years.
Jaitley further said that in comparison with other States, Andhra Pradesh has large agriculture production and a huge service sector, large irrigation projects etc. The Union government has established several Central institutions in Andhra Pradesh in a record time.
The attitude of the people has changed. People are supporting the development of the country with open mindedness and proactive attitude towards the policies and reforms of the government. The States and Centre should work together for the development of the nation. Ninety per cent of investments in India are in infrastructure and rural development and transport sector. The Union government has taken initiatives for three directional changes for development of the nation which includes JAM (Jandhan Yojana – Aadhaar- mobile), GST (Goods and Services Tax), and demonetization. Speaking on the GST, the Union Finance Minister said that to eliminate multiple taxes, to eliminate taxes on taxes and to eradicate corruption, the Union government has taken the GST. Now the country is moving towards formal economy. The Union Minster gave away the TIME India Awards to the winners.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Union Ministers M Venkaiah Naidu, Y S Choudary and others were present at the inaugural session of the summit.
