Why Cases Were Dropped On TDP Leaders: HC Questions AP Government

The High Court asked the AP Government to submit details of cases booked against the TDP leaders. The government has dropped nearly 273 cases using government orders.

Amaravati: The ruling party TDP issued withdrawal of nearly 273 cases against their leaders and ministers, and the High Court has ask the government to submit the details of the cases booked against the TPD leaders.

Some of the leaders included deputy chief ministers, Chinarajappa, KE. Krishnamurhty, and ministers like Devineni Uma, K. Ravindra, K. Atchemnaidu, and N. Anand Babu.

The TPD withdrawal of the cases was challenged by YSRCP MLA Ramakrishna Reddy in the High Court.

As per YSRCP MLA Ramakrishna, charges range from molestation, rape, to threatening government officials. For example, Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao was facing attempt to murder case, while the case booked on Atchannaidu was molestation.

Petitioner Ramakrishna said that dropping cases against them will make nearly 1,400 criminals free without any formal trail.
