Balakrishna gives New Year cheer to patients at Cancer Hospital
Hyderabad: Nandamuri Balakrishna joined a special New Year celebration at Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital on Friday. He cut a special cake bought by staff and management of BIACH&RI amidst those fighting for life with cancer.
The popular Telugu actor urged the staff, doctors and management to work together in order to achieve vision and mission envisaged by his father late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, whose inspiration has created such a world-class facility to provide affordable cancer care to the poor. “Whether it is cine field or political arena, the best results can be achieved only through team work, Balakrishna said and hoped that one day BIACH&RI will become a facility that can find a solution and cure any type of cancer.
Extending New Year wishes to all, Balakrishna expressed happiness that this year’s Ugadi will also be celebrated with Sankranthi as his latest movie “Gautamiputra Shathakarni” is getting released. “It is a great pleasure to work as chairman of the hospital despite all the work pressures he had and prayed God for giving him an opportunity to be born as a son of NTR and Nandamuri Basavatarakam.
Reviewing the work at the hospital last year, Balakrishna thanked Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for waiving penalty and regularizing the hospital buildings. He also hoped in the upcoming year the hospital will scale new heights.
Speaking to the media later, Balakrishna hoped that his upcoming movie will enthrall the audience and also educate them about the great history of Telugus. He also revealed that Chief Minister KCR will be invited for a special preview of the movie. Expressing satisfaction over the success of trailer and audio released for the movie, Balakrishna hoped that the movie would be a blockbuster and thanked all for putting in great work for the movie.
Later, Balakrishna interacted with some patients and asked the staff to solve the problems brought to his notice. –NSS
