- Fatima gets govt. help for training
- TS CM sanctions Rs 35.5 lakhs in a rare gesture
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao today handed over a letter sanctioning Rs.35.5 Lakh to Syeda Salva Fatima, towards financial support to undergo Multi-engine Rating and Type Rating Training Course for pilots, in his Camp office here.
Fatima, a graduate from Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University, is the first Muslim girl from old City to pursue the course. With this money, Fatima will become a full-fledged commercial pilot after completion of training. She thanked the Chief Minister for the help.
Farooq Hussain, MLC and Akbaruddin Owaisi, MLA, have earlier requested the Government to consider Fatima’s request favourably. Chief Minister KCR responded positively. The sanction letter is based on verification of details of applicant by the Director, Minorities Welfare. The Director in his report mentioned that the applicant’s father is working in a bakery and eking out his livelihood and the applicant’s husband is working in a private company and as such the income of the family is very low and hence she cannot afford the huge fees, and requested the Government for financial support.
The financial assistance of Rs.35.5 Lakh will be released to Telangana State Aviation Academy upon the applicant taking admission in the Academy. (NSS)
